White House mouse

No matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on, there's one thing about the Trump White House that nobody can argue: they are a neverending source of interesting headlines.

Earlier today, a mouse fell from a hole in the ceiling of that vaunted building and landed on a reporter - who even took video proof!

NBC News White House Peter Alexander was just going about business as usual for a reporter assigned to the White House when the errant rodent landed on him, an incident which he tweeted about:

Alexander, being a seasoned reporter and all, followed his journalistic instincts about a developing story and took some video of the mouse for the world to see:

Jabin Botsford, a correspondent for The Washington Post, corroborated his colleague's video with one of his own:

The White House was built over 200 years ago, and has all the problems of a house that old - including plenty of nooks and crannies for rodents to get into and hide away for warmth as the temperatures start to drop.

Still, the timing of this particular incident might be what contributes to its virality: the Trump administration is currently besieged with a number of allegations of corruption and misconduct, culminating in an impeachment investigation. As more and more of Trump's former allies seem to be distancing themselves from him, today's rodent incident seems to be a poignant metaphor for the President's troubles.
